ELECTRONIC DESIGN AUTOMATION

Electronic Design Automation (EDA) refers to the tools that are used to design and verify integrated circuits (ICs), printed circuit boards (PCBs), and electronic systems, in general. Over time, these early computer-aided drafting tools evolved into interactive programs that performed integrated circuit layout.  These integrated circuit and circuit board layout programs became known as Computer-Aided Design (CAD) tools.

ORCAD CAPTURE

ORCAD CAPTURE

OrCAD Capture is one of the most widely used schematic design solutions for the creation and documentation of electrical circuits. Coupled with the optional OrCAD CIS (component information system) product for component data management, along with highly integrated flows supporting the engineering process, OrCAD Capture is one of the most powerful design environments for taking today’s product creation from concept to production.

Virtually every electronic product is constructed with one or more printed-circuit boards (PCBs). The PCBs hold the ICs and other components and implement the interconnections between them.

The ideal PCB design starts with the discovery that a PCB is needed and continues through the final production boards. OrCAD Capture is the industry standard solution for designing and developing PCBs because of its intuitive schematic editing, project management, extensive compatibility, and cost effectiveness.

ORCAD PSPICE

ORCAD PSPICE

OrCAD PSpice and Advanced Analysis technology combine industry-leading, native analog, mixed-signal, and analysis engines to deliver a complete circuit simulation and verification solution. Whether you’re prototyping simple circuits, designing complex systems, or validating component yield and reliability, OrCAD PSpice technology provides the best, high-performance circuit simulation to analyze and refine your circuits, components, and parameters before committing to layout and fabrication

PSpice is a SPICE analog circuit and digital logic simulation program. PSpice processes circuits and executes simulation. PSpice creates an output file to store the simulation results. PSpice supports the following types of analyses: DC Analysis – for circuits with time-invariant sources. It calculates all nodal voltages and branch currents over a range of values; Transient Analysis – for circuits with time variant sources.

It calculates all nodes voltages and branch currents over a time interval and their instantaneous values are the outputs; and AC Analysis – for small signal analysis of circuits with sources of varying frequencies. It calculates the magnitudes and phase angles of all nodal voltages and branch currents over a range of frequencies.

ORCAD PCB EDITOR

ORCAD PCB EDITOR

OrCAD PCB Editor is a tiered, scalable PCB design solution that delivers advanced capabilities and highly integrated flows. The powerful, tightly integrated PCB design technologies include schematic capture, librarian tools, PCB editing and routing (PCB Editor), Constraint Manager, signal integrity (included in Professional), autorouting (included in Professional), and optional mixed-signal circuit simulation.

Virtually every electronic product is constructed with one or more printed-circuit boards (PCBs). The PCBs hold the ICs and other components and implement the interconnections between them. The ideal PCB design starts with the discovery that a PCB is needed and continues through the final production boards.

OrCAD PCB Editor contains full-featured PCB editor based on Allegro technology. Its extensive feature set addresses a wide range of today’s design challenges and manufacturability concerns such as intelligent placement and routing, constraint management, creating dynamic shapes, and design reuse.
